What it is
Records the number of inhabitants of Argentina and how it changes over time. It is a structural indicator underpinning many economic and social ratios (GDP per capita, density, per-head rates). It is compiled by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC).
How it's calculated
It is derived from population censuses and vital and migration statistics, updated with births, deaths and net migration. INDEC provides projections and an annual reference population figure between censuses.

Limitations
