GDP (annual) in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) measures the value of all final goods and services produced in Bosnia and Herzegovina over a period. Published by the Agency for Statistics (BHAS), it is the broadest gauge of the size and pace of its economy.

BHAS estimates it via the expenditure, output and income approaches, which must reconcile, consolidating data from the country's entities. It is released in levels and as year-on-year (YoY) growth, with a gradual adoption of European standards.

It is the cyclical reference for a developing, EU-aspiring economy underpinned by industry, exports and remittances. Firm growth supports convergence and fiscal stability under the currency board that anchors its money.

It is released with a lag and with frequent revisions, compounded by the complex statistical structure across the country's entities. The high share of the informal economy and remittances means official GDP understates real activity.
