What it is	It is an indicator of economic activity which measures the evolution of industrial production, and strongly related to the situation of the cycle in which the economy is.
How it's calculated	For its calculation is first selected a basket of goods or products representative of the entire industry, and a panel of establishments that manufacture those goods (about 1,366 establishments) so that facilitate monthly productions they have done.
Market implications	It is an indicator of business activity. Let you know how evolves the productive capacity of the country in terms of added value produced, covering a very high percentage of the total domestic industry.
Limitations	It is a fact that affects you very significantly the number of working days and holidays of the different autonomous communities, so to analyze its evolution, the calendar adjusted series should be used.
