What it is
It is an indicator of economic activity that reflects the level of total production thereof. It includes production created by all residents in a country, both national and non-national.
How it's calculated
INSEE set as components in the calculation of the following French GDP: foreign trade, domestic production, gross capital formation, household consumption, other items in the table of input-output, taxes, contributions and social benefits and table integrated economic accounts.
Market implications
The GDP of a country represents, overall, the final result of the productive activity of its economy. It represents the value of final goods and services produced by the economy of that country. It is indicative of the level of economic activity thereof.
Limitations
It is an indicator subject to review, which makes the final data will not be until after 15 weeks after the end of the quarter to which they relate.
