What it is	Measures changes in prices received by producers, those manufactured and sold on the domestic industrial products. Thus, it excludes all transport costs, marketing, taxes ... etc. It covers all goods industries.
How it's calculated	a monthly survey is conducted in different distribution centers about different products, and in diverse geographic locations with more than 2,000 inhabitants. Subsequently an index, which takes into account the different prices and weights of the products and services that are analyzed basket is made.
Market implications	The evolution of prices affects consumption, savings, purchasing power ... etc. In turn, the French CPI takes into account the offers made in the various products, as well as discounts on the same (In Spain are included from January 2002).
Limitations	To analyze the evolution of flag background is necessary to eliminate the most volatile items, such as energy, snuff, food and beverages. This is what is known as core CPI.
