What it isSlovakia's core inflation under the national methodology of the statistics office SUSR ('jadrová inflácia'), which isolates the underlying trend in consumer prices by excluding regulated prices (administered household energy, regulated transport, etc.), unlike Eurostat's harmonised definition.
How it's calculatedThe SUSR computes core inflation by stripping the regulated-price items out of the CPI basket and publishes it as a year-on-year change.
Market implicationsThe ECB and analysts track core inflation to judge underlying pressures without the noise of highly volatile energy and food prices. A high core reading strengthens the case for keeping rates elevated.
LimitationsThe national definition (excluding regulated prices) differs from Eurostat's harmonised core (excluding energy and food), so the two can diverge noticeably in the same month. The SUSR provides no public API to reproduce its own definition automatically.
