Roughly one to two months after the reference quarter closes (advance estimate and final figure).

What it is

GDP measures the value of all final goods and services produced in Slovenia over a period and is the broadest gauge of the size and growth of its economy. It is published by the Statistical Office of Slovenia (SURS) under EU standards.

How it's calculated

Compiled under the ESA 2010 framework, reconciling the output, expenditure and income approaches in seasonally adjusted chain-linked volumes. Quarter-on-quarter and year-on-year changes are released as a flash estimate with later revisions.

Market implications

It is the benchmark for Slovenia's cycle, an open, export-oriented economy within the euro area. Its path shapes jobs and public finances and feeds, in aggregate, the ECB's assessment.

Limitations

The flash estimate is not final and is revised in successive releases. As a small, highly trade-exposed economy, industry and exports can lend volatility to the quarterly figure.
