What it is
The Registered Unemployment is constituted by total employment demands high, registered by the INEM, existing on the last day of each month, excluding correspond to described work situations in the Ministerial Order of 11 March 1985 (BOE of 14 / 3/85).
How it's calculated
Registered unemployment data facilitates the Employment Office (INEM). Demand for unemployment, is "applying for a job that makes a worker, unemployed or not, to an employment office INEM, Placement Agency, European Employment Service or the Register of Job Seekers Abroad" .
Market implications
This reflects the extent to which the population of a country is accessing the labor market and if you are creating or destroying jobs. It is indicative of the health of an economy. Its social repercussions it a fundamental economic problem and its solution is a priority for economic policy.
Limitations
Despite the seemingly simple calculation it is difficult to determine exactly the categories. It takes no account or underemployment (workers with lower-level jobs to its labor capacity), or effectively unemployed workers who have ceased to be in employment offices.
