FrequencyAnual
Release Publicación anual, referida al conjunto del ejercicio y sujeta a revisión.
What it isMeasures the change in prices of a representative basket of goods and services bought by Ukrainian households. Published by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine (Ukrstat), it is the country's main inflation gauge.
How it's calculatedIt is built from prices collected regularly across a broad sample of outlets and localities, aggregated with household spending weights on a base year (index 100). It is followed as an annual (YoY) and monthly (MoM) rate of change.
Market implicationsInflation is the National Bank of Ukraine's (NBU) main reference for setting rates and defending the hryvnia. In a war-hit economy, a high print tends to support tighter policy, while a falling one creates room for cuts.
LimitationsIn wartime, price collection and coverage can be disrupted, and supply shocks (energy, food, the exchange rate) make the series especially volatile. For the underlying trend, watch core inflation.
