What it is	Measures the change in factory-gate prices of industrial goods made and sold in Ukraine, excluding transport, distribution and taxes. Published by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, it covers mining, manufacturing and energy, but not construction.
How it's calculated	A producer price index built from selling prices reported by a sample of industrial establishments, with a fixed base year (index 100). It is released as a year-on-year (YoY) and month-on-month (MoM) percentage change.
Market implications	It is a leading gauge of cost pressures in industry and can foreshadow consumer inflation. In Ukraine's wartime setting it is highly sensitive to energy prices, supply disruptions and the hryvnia exchange rate.
Limitations	Highly volatile owing to the weight of energy and to wartime distortions (supply cuts, damage to productive capacity). The data can be revised and its coverage may be affected by conditions on the ground.
