Release Publicación anual, referida al conjunto del ejercicio y sujeta a revisión.
What it isGross Domestic Product (GDP) measures the value of all final goods and services produced in Vietnam over a given period. Published by the General Statistics Office (GSO), it is the broadest gauge of the size and pace of growth of the Vietnamese economy.
How it's calculatedEstimated via the expenditure, output and income approaches, which must reconcile. The GSO publishes quarterly data with the year-on-year (YoY) change as the headline figure, often also on a cumulative year-to-date basis.
Market implicationsThe main reference for gauging the health and cycle of the Vietnamese economy, one of Asia's fastest-growing and heavily geared to exports and manufacturing. Growth above or below the official target guides State Bank of Vietnam policy and investor appetite.
LimitationsData may be revised in later releases, and statistical coverage together with seasonality driven by the Lunar New Year (Tết) can make quarter-to-quarter comparison difficult.
